29 NCOs lead the way as they graduate from Maneuver Senior Leader Course

Today, we celebrate the graduation of 29 exceptional Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) from the Maneuver Senior Leader Course at the 166th Regional Training Institute. These Infantry and Armor NCOs have undergone an intensive training program to develop self-confident, adaptable leaders capable of solving complex problems during Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) with the future of multi-domain operations.

The Maneuver Senior Leader Course is a combined Infantry and Armor branch-specific, learner-centric course that prepares Staff Sergeants for duties as Sergeant First Class. The course covers NCO Common Core Competencies (NCO-C3), select critical/everyday tasks and topics, and MOS-specific breakout groups.

As part of their training, the students participated in a staff ride to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where they walked the hallowed grounds of one of the most significant battles of the American Civil War. This immersive experience gave them valuable insights into leadership, decision-making, and the importance of terrain in military operations. By analyzing the actions of commanders and soldiers during the Battle of Gettysburg, these NCOs gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and complexities of leading troops in combat.

The combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning using simulations and simulators has equipped these graduates with the skills, knowledge, and perspective necessary to lead platoons effectively and contribute to the success of their units in future operations.

We commend these 29 NCOs for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to personal and professional growth. As they progress in their careers, we are confident they will make significant contributions to the U.S. Army and serve as outstanding leaders and mentors to the soldiers under their command.
